Kartlis Deda

Monumental statue in Tbilisi, which is one of the symbols of the city, was erected on Sololaki hill in 1958 to commemorate the city's 1500 universary. Kartlis Deda holds a bowl of wine in one hand and a sword for the enemies in another, which is perceived as a national symbol.
