Opera House

The building of Kutaisi State Professional Opera and Ballet Theater named after Meliton Balanchivadze was built in 1946 as a drama theater and served various functions until 1969. The project is considered as a smaller analogue of the Vienna State Opera and the 13 Roman statues on the roof of the building are always an eye-catcher. The author of the sculptures is Giorgi Kikvidze.
